Mounties in Port Coquitlam, B.C., are searching for two suspects involved in a road-rage incident last month that sent another driver to hospital with serious injuries.
A statement from the local RCMP detachment says the two male suspects were travelling in a white Tesla sedan on the Mary Hill Bypass near Kingsway Avenue when the altercation occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Feb. 5.
Investigators say both occupants of the Tesla assaulted the driver of a grey Hyundai Elantra before fleeing west on the Mary Hill Bypass.
The Hyundai driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement. The suspect vehicle is described as a white, four-door Tesla sedan.
“The Coquitlam RCMP are asking both male suspects involved to immediately come forward,” acting sergeant John Graham said in the statement Wednesday, seven weeks after the altercation occurred.
“Driving in traffic can be frustrating, but there is no room in our communities for aggressive, assaultive behaviour. This violent road rage incident is unacceptable, and we want to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.
Investigators are also seeking dashcam or surveillance video from the area near the Mary Hill Bypass and Kingsway Avenue from the time of the incident.
