Police seek Tesla driver, witnesses after Delta crash left 1 dead, 5 hospitalized

Police are asking witnesses and the driver of a Tesla to come forward as investigators continue probing a crash that killed one person and sent five others to hospital in Delta earlier this month.

In an update Tuesday, the Delta Police Department released a photo of a Tesla believed to have been in the area at the time of the collision, which occurred at the intersection of 118 Street and 75A Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. on May 2.

Police said investigators have already received tips and video related to the crash but are now hoping to identify the driver of the Tesla shown in the photo, who they believe may have more information.

The two-vehicle collision claimed the life of one of the drivers, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time, B.C. Emergency Health Services said two people were taken to hospital in serious condition, while three others were in serious but stable condition.

In their update, authorities said three young people who were taken to hospital have since been released and are expected to recover.

Police added that the occupants of a white Tesla involved in the crash have also been released from hospital.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
