Video posted to social media shows a brawl at a West Kelowna golf course that police are calling “totally unacceptable.”

Mounties in West Kelowna, B.C., are investigating a caught-on-camera brawl that broke out at a golf course Monday evening.

Video posted to social media – punctuated by shocked commentary from the people filming the altercation – shows roughly two and a half minutes of the fight between two groups of golfers. It starts with shoving, club-pointing and exchanges of profanity.

The cause of the conflict is not apparent, but one comment suggests the issue was one party playing too slowly for another’s liking.

“It’s Monday night f***ing golf. You in a rush? Where you gotta be?” one man shouts.

Two polo shirt-clad men exchange punches, and one has his shirt ripped off and is knocked down with a punch to the jaw soon after.

A woman repeatedly screams, “Stop it!” and “You’re crazy!” as the fight continues.

The bystanders filming urge the brawlers to “take it down a notch” and the groups ultimately walk away from one another – with one man yelling “learn how to golf” as he departs.

The West Kelowna RCMP confirmed officers were called to the scene in the 3500 block of Carrington Avenue where Two Eagles Golf Course is located around 6:45 p.m.

“All parties have been identified, and the incident is currently under investigation,” a statement from the detachment said.

“We’ve viewed the cell phone video of the incident and it’s nothing short of unacceptable behaviour. No further details will be provided while we continue to look into this matter.”
