Pedestrian taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Markham parking lot

A pedestrian has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a Markham parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.

York Regional Police say they got a call shortly after 1:30 p.m. for a collision in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Denison Street, north of Steeles Avenue East.

There is no immediate word on the pedestrian’s extent of injuries.

Police did not say whether the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

They add that there will be an increased police presence in the area as they investigate the incident.
