Woman suffers life-altering injuries after industrial accident in East York

Paramedics said the woman suffered serious, life-altering but not life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a trauma centre.

One woman suffered life-altering injuries after an industrial accident at a restaurant in East York late Monday night.

Police were called to the area of Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive shortly before 11:20 p.m. after a woman reportedly got her hand stuck in a meat grinder.

Paramedics said the woman suffered serious, life-altering injuries and was rushed to a trauma centre via emergency run. Her injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident, police noted.
