Here’s how much it costs to stay in a Toronto hotel during the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Toronto is just weeks away from playing host to the biggest sporting event in the world, and hotels in and around the city are seeing a spike in bookings.

Sara Anghel, president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Hotels Association (GTHA), tells CTV News that hotel occupancy rates are up about 28 per cent over 2025 and 2024.

Though, Anghel conceded that hotels are not “seeing as much demand as perhaps all the cities would have expected leading up to the games.”

“We just had the World Series last fall. So, nobody is nervous. They’re excited and happy to welcome the guests and very well equipped to do so,” she said.

According to Destination Toronto, the city’s tourism promoter, more than half of the ticket holders at the six matches hosted at Toronto Stadium (aka BMO Field) are expected to be from out-of-town.

At time of writing, prices for a Toronto hotel room are higher during World Cup dates, but aren’t reaching the same heights they did during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in 2024—when some rooms were going for 10 times the usual price—and Anghel doubts they will.

“Taylor Swift is similar, but not the same,” she said, noting the slightly larger size of the Rogers Centre where she performed compared to Toronto Stadium (50,000 vs 45,000 seats) and her global reach.

“I don’t think it’s going to be significantly more (than 28 per cent hotel occupancy). I think it also is the result of the games we actually do have that brings a different type of tourist…Maybe we don’t have a lot of those games that fans follow from anywhere around the world.”

So how much will it cost you to stay in and around the city when the FIFA World Cup rolls through?

CTV News has compiled a list of prices for a two-night stay booked around the first game at Toronto Stadium on June 12 – when Team Canada plays Bosnia Herzegovina – with a focus on luxury, mid-tier and affordable options which are close to the airport.

Five-star hotels

The Ritz-Carlton

A City View Room, the cheapest option on offer at the luxury hotel as a non member, will cost you approximately $1,325 per night.

A similar room costs $795 per night a month later, days after the last match is hosted in Toronto on July 2.

Fairmont Royal York

A Fairmont Queen room is going for about $616 a night.

If you booked a Fairmont King room a month later, it would cost you $437 a night.

St. Regis

At the St. Regis, a King room is going for about $1,200 a night for non-members.

On the second weekend in July, that room costs $795.

Mid-tier

Hotel X

Hotel X is the hotel that’s closest to Toronto Stadium and a king room is on offer for $599 per night for non-members.

A similar room goes for $440 per night a month later.

Intercontinental

A king room at the Continental is going for about $669 a night.

That room will cost you $404a night in July.

Delta

A king room at Delta’s downtown hotel will cost $666 per night for non-members.

In July, a similar room costs $420per night.

Hotels by the airport

Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport

At the Hilton Garden Inn, a king room costs $329per night for non-members.

The hotel is offering the same room for $174 a night a month later.

Sheraton Gateway

Sheraton is offering a king room for $549 per night for non-members in June.

Prices drop in July and are going for about $414.

Quality Inn & Suites

A no-frills stay at a King room at the Quality Inn & Suites is going for $218.

The same room is going for $169 a month later.

While some hotels are already sold out for those dates at time of writing, others are still available. The prices above reflect a booking for two adults in one room between June 11 to 13 and July 9 to 11.
