Sask. teen arrested after 13-year-old boy shot in Prince Albert

WATCH: A shooting in Prince Albert has left a 13-year-old boy with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a shooting that sent a 13-year-old boy to hospital in Prince Albert.

Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 17th Street West at around 4:17 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a report of an injured person, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said in a news release.

Responding officers found the 13-year-old boy with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim was transported to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The following morning, around 9:13 am, patrol officers attended in a home in the 3000 block of Dunn Drive and arrested the 14-year-old boy suspect.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
