Man connected to Sask. daycare sentenced to 15 years on child porn charges

Published:

A man connected with a daycare in a small Saskatchewan town was sentenced to 15 years in prison last month on multiple indictments for child pornography and sexual assault.

Joseph Sproull was charged in July 2021 after police executed a search warrant at a home in the community of Marshall — located about a 10-minute drive east of Lloydminster.

Investigators seized two cellphones and two laptops.

On the devices, RCMP investigators found images of “unknown children being sexually assaulted by a male.”

Since Sproull’s home doubled as a daycare — Li’l Tykes Dayhome — the provincial Ministry of Education was alerted and the daycare’s licence was soon revoked.

Sproull was later found guilty of making, distributing and possessing child pornography, and two counts of sexual assault.

On Feb. 10, a judge sentenced him to 15 years behind bars.
