Man charged with arson after morning blaze in Prince Albert

WATCH: A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged with arson following a house fire in Prince Albert.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged with arson following a house fire in Prince Albert Thursday morning.

Around 6:50 a.m., police were called to the 200 block of 15th Street West for a report of a structure fire, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said in a release.

Police say officers and firefighters arrived at the scene to find a 36-year-woman who had exited the burning residence. She was then assessed by Parkland Ambulance.

A few hours later, the 37-year-old suspect was arrested. He has been charged with arson with disregard for human life.

Police say traffic restrictions were in place but have since been lifted in the area.
