Investigation underway after an inmate died at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre on the weekend.
According to the Ministry of Corrections, a 29-year-old man was found unresponsive in a unit around 11:28 a.m. on March 18.
Emergency crews were called after corrections staff tried life-saving measures.
He was then taken to hospital where he died on Sunday. His next of kin have been notified and the ministry does not suspect foul play.
The Saskatoon Police Service and Saskatchewan Coroners Service have taken over the investigation.
The ministry says it will also conduct an internal investigation into the incident.
