Edmonton, Winnipeg men charged after major drug seizure in Saskatoon

Two men from Edmonton and Winnipeg are facing a total of 15 charges following a major drug investigation in Saskatoon.

Police say members of the Saskatoon Police Service crime reduction team, with help from the tactical support unit, made two arrests on Thursday.

A 21-year-old man from Edmonton was arrested in the 2000 block of Stilling Lane just after 6 p.m.

About an hour later, officers stopped a bus south of Blackstrap Lake and arrested a 23-year-old man from Winnipeg without incident.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at a home on Stilling Lane, as well as a vehicle and a backpack.

Police say they seized more than five kilograms of fentanyl, more than 7.5 kilograms of methamphetamine and just over two kilograms of cocaine.

Officers also seized eight litres of Gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), nearly $3,000 in cash and items consistent with drug trafficking.

Police say both men were taken into custody and were scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on May 15.

They face charges including drug trafficking, possession of controlled substances and possession of property obtained by crime.
