These Sask. communities saw over 15 cm of snow, over 75 km/h wind gusts

Regina and Saskatoon saw up to 20 cm, while strong winds and dropping temperatures settle across the province.

Following another blast of wintry weather, several communities in Saskatchewan were hit with over 15 centimetres (cm) of snow and strong wind gusts from Feb. 17 to 18.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) weather summary released on Thursday morning, these communities saw the most amount of snow:

• Meadow Lake: 12 cm
• Strasbourg: 15 cm
• Bredenbury: 17 cm
• Regina: 17 – 20 cm
• Saskatoon: 19 cm
• Maryfield: 19 cm
• Holbein: 25 cm
• Prince Albert: 35 cm
• NE of Holbein: 43 cm
• Emma Lake: 45 cm
• Prud’homme: 52 cm

ECCC says a variety of sources, including ECCC stations, social media and CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network), were used to find these totals.

• Regina: 76 km/h
• Bratts Lake: 76 km/h
• Saskatoon: 76 km/ h
• Yellow Grass: 78 km/ h
• Broadview: 80 km/ h
• Indian Head: 80 km/ h
• Moose Jaw: 83 km/ h
• Estevan: 85 km/ h
• Weyburn: 94 km/ h
