Carney visits Riderville ahead of 2025 Grey Cup

Prime Minister Mark Carney was seen mingling with fans in Riderville Saturday night, as the Roughriders and Alouettes prepare to face off in the 112th Grey Cup.

On the eve of the most important game in Canadian football, fans across the country are surely wishing they could attend the Grey Cup in person. Apparently, that sentiment holds true for prime ministers as well.

Prime Minister Mark Carney was spotted visiting Riderville on Saturday night. Video captured at the event shows the prime minister speaking with fans and posing for photos.

According to the prime minister’s publicly available calendar, Carney was scheduled to “participate in events ahead of the 112th Grey Cup” from 7 p.m. onwards on Saturday.

For Sunday, after taking part in community events in the morning, the prime minister is slated to meet with Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew in the early afternoon before heading to Princess Auto Stadium for the big game at around 4:30 p.m.
