Here’s every time the Saskatchewan Roughriders have appeared at the Grey Cup

Despite having arguably, the most dedicated fanbase in Canadian football, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have been one of the least successful teams in terms of winning the league’s top honour, the Grey Cup.

Ahead of the Green and White’s appearance at the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, here is a look at the Roughrider’s track record when it comes to post-season success.

Since 1909, Saskatchewan’s team has made it to the Grey Cup a total of 19 times, winning on four occasions. Eight of those appearances were as the Regina Roughriders, while the remaining 12 were made in the team’s current configuration.

In terms of league standings, the Toronto Argonauts have been the most successful team at the Grey Cup, winning 19 times. Other teams include:

Saskatchewan Roughriders

In 1948, after clubs in Moose Jaw and Saskatoon folded, the Regina Roughriders became a provincially-owned and operated club.

That same year, the club adopted its now iconic “Green and White” colours after then executive member Jack Fyffe found a set of surplus green and white jerseys at a surplus store in Chicago.
