Ottawa police have laid charges against an American driver after colliding with another vehicle in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire Centre over the weekend.
Police say the driver made a “costly mistake” after Saturday night’s Ottawa Senators game by “choosing to drive impaired” instead of going to their hotel a “five-minute walk away.”
The driver faces a charge of impaired driving, a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
“Make the right choice—plan ahead. Drive sober,” police say.
The incident happened after the Senators beat the New York Rangers 4-3 in overtime.
