Police in western Quebec are searching several homes and vehicles in Gatineau this week as part of an operation into alleged drug trafficking linked to the Hells Angels.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said Wednesday that officers from the Outaouais regional joint task force are working with Gatineau police to search 11 homes and four vehicles around the region. Searches are being conducted on rue Matte, rue de Vimy, rue Lesage, Terrace Eardley, rue Dumas, rue Jean-Louis-Champagne, rue Charles, and boulevard St-René in Gatineau.

Officers are also conducting searches in Terrebonne, Mascouche, and Coteau-du-Lac, Que., near Montreal.

“The purpose of the operation is to search for additional evidence linked to individuals suspected of drug trafficking. The items seized today could help demonstrate the involvement of one or more individuals in drug trafficking activities in various sectors,” the SQ said in a news release in French.

Investigations remain ongoing, police said, and no arrests or charges have been announced.

The SQ says information relating to drug trafficking or production can be communicated confidentially at any time to the Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
