Man charged with attempted murder following disturbance in Napanee, Ont.

A 49-year-old man is facing a charge of attempted murder after a person was treated for serious injuries in Napanee, Ont., according to police.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers were notified by paramedics shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday that a person was found injured at a home in Napanee.

“Police attended the scene and one person was transported to a local trauma centre hospital with serious injuries,” the OPP said in a media release.

The accused is facing charges of attempted murder, forcible confinement, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

No other information about the victim was released.

Police say the accused is currently awaiting a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee.

Napanee is located 46 kilometres west of Kingston.
