Atlético Ottawa marks the home opener at TD Place Saturday against the Halifax Wanderers, kicking off the 2025 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season in support of the CHEO Foundation.
“We’re pumped. It’s a brand-new season. We have a new coach, some new players, new mentality, and we’re going to provide, what we like to say, the best live atmosphere in Ottawa sports,” Atlético Ottawa COO Jon Sinden told CTV Morning Live Friday.
The game started at 2 p.m. Sinden said the costs have been lowered to remove barriers of entry and support local soccer, while helping the CHEO Foundation.
“We’ve lowered the barriers,” he said. “We’ve partnered with our awesome colleagues with CHEO Foundation.”
The lowest priced tickets start at $10 and were selling quickly online, he warned.
Sinden pointed out Atletico Ottawa’s new Jersey. “The Black and Gold Kit” is defined by the community, Ottawa and Gatineau. I’s also defined by the team’s commitment to growing the game in both cities. The black and gold colours represent the team’s ambition and confidence.
The design is “clean, bold” and highlighted by a series of gold accents.
“Atlético is providing exclusive access to the 2025 Alternate Jersey for Season Seat Members first. They will have the opportunity to secure their sizing before the general public,” reads the team’s website.
He encouraged everyone to be there, citing a “great atmosphere.”
