Three eastern Ontario residents are facing charges related to drug trafficking following an investigation that started in January in Alexandria, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On Tuesday, The OPP searched a home located on Victoria Street West and seized items related to drug trafficking, suspected cocaine and psilocybin, and an imitation handgun. Officers also arrested and charged three people at the scene.
A 71-year-old, a 61-year-old, and a 55-year-old have been charged with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 61-year-old is facing an additional charge of possession of a schedule three substance.
Meanwhile, the 71-year-old is facing an additional charge of two counts of failure to comply with a release order. This individual remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
The two other suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on April 17.
