Businesses come and go but there is one in Timmins that has stood the test of time.
This weekend marks 105 years that the clothing store Steinberg and Mahn has been open. The business has always been at the same location: the corner of Wilson Avenue and Mountjoy Street South.

Darren Taylor, the current owner, is the great-grandson of the original owner, Max Steinberg. He joined the family business in the late 1990s and worked alongside his father.
“I came into the store in 1996, and of course, my parents, Don and Ann Taylor, and then my grandfather (Eli Taylor) before that," Taylor said.
"You can't describe the feeling … what your family has done for 105 years in this City of Timmins."
Taylor has two children, but he said he doesn’t know what the future holds in terms of a succession plan — his daughter is a teacher and his son is in school.
In the meantime, he has several employees, including Ishan Bhale. Originally from India, Bhale arrived in Timmins about a year ago and went door-to-door looking for a job.
"I met Darren and he quickly interviewed me and within two minutes he said that I was hired," he said.

"I was so thrilled. (I) literally called my mom and I was crying. We both were crying because it was kind of like it was happy tears."
Bhale said he used to work in a Louis Philippe premium brand clothing store in India, but he said his experience is much different here.
"In India, we used to not give that much attention to the one person but over here, like Darren says it's more of a quality," he said.
"I literally saw that. What he is giving -- the quality and attention to every customer and he goes above and beyond to every customer."

Tayor said he wants to thank people for trusting Steinberg and Mahn to dress them, regardless of the occasion.
"Very fortunate that we have a love relationship with the community and … people love us," Taylor said.
"Timmins has been very good to us."
To celebrate 105 years, draws for prizes will take place this weekend and next. Taylor said he held a big party for the 100th milestone.
