A Timmins mom is issuing a warning after an 11-year-old girl found a needle in a chocolate bar she got during trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Angie Rowe told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in a phone interview she took her daughter and her daughter's school friend to the Toke Street haunted house and trick-or-treating Tuesday night.
But the real scary situation happened when the friend got home and bit into a mini Aero chocolate bar only to find a needle inside, Rowe said.
Luckily, the girl wasn't pricked by the needle.

Rowe said she brought the candy immediately to the police station.
The pair, supervised by Rowe, started the night's adventures in the north end of the city around 6 p.m. and went to houses on four streets: Donna Cres., Diane Cres., Hart St. and Toke Street.
They spent about an hour at the haunted house and went to about four doors on Toke Street.
Where the tainted candy came from has not been confirmed.
Timmins police said in a news release they are investigating and confirmed the candy was a wrapped chocoate bar with a needle inside.
"Police would like to remind all parents to inspect all candy collected from trick or treating," the release said.
"Any signs of tampering should be reported to the Timmins police without delay."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police station.
Rowe said ever since her daughter was little, she has carried two bags to collect treats in -- one for people they know and another for people they don't.
This makes it easier to go through the stash of treats at the end of the night to ensure they are safe, she said.
