Ontario Provincial Police are appealing for the public’s help for information on who shot and killed three dogs last weekend in Verner, Ont.
“Police are seeking the public’s assistance with an investigation involving cruelty to animals,” an OPP news release said Monday.

Nipissing West OPP was alerted Saturday that three Great Pyrenees dogs had been shot and abandoned in a ditch off Deer Lake Road in Verner.
“Officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual(s) involved in the destruction and abandoning of these animals,” police said.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with Verner’s community Facebook page full of angry reactions.
‘Shame on you’
“Whoever did this ... I hope you are found (whether they are) your dogs or not,” one person said.
“Absolutely disgusting.”
“Whoever did this better get what they deserve for this unacceptable cruelty of those fur babies,” said another.
“Shame on you.”
