Sudbury radio station’s diaper drive a huge success again

Published:

Pure Country diaper drive hits target Our friends at Pure Country reached their goal this year, collect 1,000 boxes of diapers for those families in need this Christmas.

Pure Country 91.7 radio hosts Josh and Coop were live on location in the parking lot of the New Sudbury Centre on Friday morning for drive-by drop-offs of diapers and baby wipes.

The goal this year was to collect 1,000 boxes, which loyal listeners and supporters helped them surpass.

“The community once again -- as we fully expected -- stepped up to the plate and came through in a huge, huge way,” said Coop, a morning host on Pure Country 91.7.

“Like I said, (it) came right down to the wire but we can confidently say we’ve hit the 1,000-case mark. Unbelievable. Sudbury, this community, just blows me away every single time.”

“Just the amount of love in this community that comes out and donates every year,” said Cherie Bonhomme, executive director of the Pregnancy Care Centre & Infant Food Bank.

“This helps us out to stock our shelves all year long and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of the donors in Sudbury.”
