Sault Ste. Marie fire crews responded to a call of a natural gas leak in the 100 block of Albert Street East Wednesday.

The gas leak was first reported just after 2:30 p.m. the Fire Services said in a release.

“Enbridge Gas was on scene upon arrival of fire crews. The source of the natural gas leak came from a residential dwelling. The issue was resolved. Fire crews ventilated the dwelling,”

Fire crews informed neighbours of the situation, blocked off the street, and ensured no one was in the immediate area for precautionary reasons.

PUC Services in Sault Ste. Marie arrived on scene, and cut power to the dwelling.

There were no injuries to report, the Fire Services said.
