Sault police seek public assistance with liquor theft investigation

Sault police are investigating a theft from a local business earlier this month.

On Feb. 8, a male suspect stole alcohol from a retail location in the 600 block of Great Northern Road, according to police.

“The unknown suspect frequents the business often according to employees causing a significant amount of loss,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release.

Authorities said the value of the liquor stolen that day was $570.

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.

“Do you recognize this individual,” asked Kendra Addison, the Sault Ste. Marie Crime Stoppers program coordinator, in a related online video.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
