Sault police seek public assistance investigating the theft of snacks from a local business

Sault police are investigating a recent theft from a local business earlier this month.

On Feb. 8, a male suspect stole a significant quantity snack food from a retail location in the 300 block of McNabb Street, according to police.

“The unknown suspect is described as wearing black hat, grey jackets and a black hoodie,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release Friday.

Authorities said the value of the stolen snacks was $454.54.

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.

“Do you recognize this individual,” asked Crime Stoppers officials in a video message.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
