A charge was laid in an ongoing neighbour dispute in a town halfway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, police say.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Wagoosh Lake Road in the Township of the North Shore/Spragge around 4 p.m. April 12, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday.

“The investigation determined that an individual approached the complainant’s property line, began yelling at the complainant without provocation and made a threat to burn down the complainant’s garage,” police said.

As a result, OPP charged a 48-year-old woman with uttering threats to damage property.

She is scheduled to appear in court in Elliot Lake on June 5.

If convicted, the maximum penalty is up to two years in prison or up to a $5,000 fine.
