A 32-year-old man who was out on probation has been charged in connection with an assault in North Bay last weekend.
The incident took place just before midnight March 8 at a convenience store on Cassells Street.
“The accused approached an employee at the business and attempted to take an item from the employee’s hand,” police said in a news release Tuesday.
“When the accused was unsuccessful, he attempted to assault the employee before leaving the store briefly. The accused then re-entered the store and stole several items of property before leaving the area.”
Police were called and the suspect was arrested March 9. The victim wasn’t injured and no weapon was used.
Charges include robbery with violence and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was released from custody and is set to appear before the court on April 15.
