An industrial accident overnight at a mining facility in Sudbury has left a man in critical condition in a Toronto hospital.

We've learned that it happened at Glencore's acid plant in Falconbridge and that three people were injured.

One victim, a 56-year-old man, had bad burns to his face, arms and upper body and he was flown to the burn unit at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
