Man wanted by police after breaking electronic monitoring device

A 29-year-old man from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que. is wanted in connection with an apparent violation of his probation.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) says it has reason to believe he “broke his electronic monitoring device.”

Police say Scott McInnes was last seen at 4:30 a.m. near Zouave Street in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

He is believed to be travelling in a black 2017 Volkswagen Golf with a veteran’s licence plate numbered 077 PCB.

“Although he is in violation of his probation, his loved ones have reason to fear for his safety,” the force notes.

McInnes is described as 1.72 m (5′8″) in height with brown hair and eyes.

He has a beard.

When he was last seen, he was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt with a white “The North Face” logo, grey pants and a dark cap.

Anyone who sees McInnes is asked not to approach him directly and to call 911.
