The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the death of a child found unconscious in a bathtub in Montmagny, near Quebec City.
Emergency services arrived on the scene shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Resuscitation moves were initiated, and the child was transported to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
Investigators from the SQ’s major crimes unit, as well as forensic technicians, have been assigned to the case.
A coroner has also been notified.
