Quebec is tracking a possible freezing rain storm that could hit the province this weekend.
Montrealers can expect conditions to start with clouds and periods of light snow on Friday night. The mercury is expected to move down to a low of -2 C to end the workweek.

From Friday into Saturday the island could receive up to 4 centimetres of snow ahead of a partial solar eclipse at sunrise.
However, a cloudy Saturday morning could create low visibility for those in the Montreal area.
A daytime high of -1 is expected Saturday before the temperature drops to a low of -4 C come Saturday night.
A freezing rain storm is then expected on Sunday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southern regions of Quebec, noting areas north of the St. Lawrence River are particularly at risk of heavy precipitation.
As the temperature moves to a high of 3 C on Sunday, Montrealers could see up to 16 millimetres of rain by night.

Another 12 millimetres of rain could then come Monday, as the mercury shoots up to 12 C.
The normal daytime high for Montreal at this time of year is 6 C.

❄️ A low-pressure system moving in from the American midwest could bring significant amounts of snow to southern Quebec from Friday evening to Saturday.
