Some relief at the pump for Montrealers ahead of the weekend

There is some relief at the gas pump on Friday, as Montrealers prepare to head into the weekend.

According to the Régie Essence Québec, the majority of gas stations in the Montreal area are posting rates of 179.9 cents, a dip from the above-200-cent prices seen in recent weeks.

Notably, the Costco on des Sciences Boulevard is slightly lower on Friday morning, at 177.9 cents, and the Esso on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard Est is boasting costs of 176.9 cents.

The situation is similar in the Montérégie region, with only a few stations above the $2 mark, including the Petro-Canada on Brunet Street in Mont-Saint-Hilaire and the Shell on Marie-Victorin Boulevard in Brossard.

The Esso on Cité-des-Jeunes Route has one of the lowest prices, at 174.9 cents, as well as the Mobil on Omer-Marcil Boulevard in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu at 173.9 cents.

The prices are steady in Laval, with the Super Gaz on Cartier Boulevard Ouest and the Costco on Autoroute 440 charging the lowest rates at 175.9 cents.
