Road closures planned for these two Montreal bridges this week

Commuters should note that construction work on two Montreal bridges are expected to result in closures and cause traffic congestion.

Papineau-Leblanc Bridge (A-19)

Saturday

• From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Highway 19 southbound will be closed between Highway 440 (Jean-Noël-Lavoie) and Henri-Bourassa Boulevard.
• Highway 19 northbound will also be closed at that time between Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and de la Concorde Boulevard.

Sunday

• From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Highway 19 northbound between Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and de la Concorde Boulevard.

Those wanting to go to Montreal are advised to use the Médéric-Martin Bridge (A-15) or the Pie-IX Bridge (R-125).

Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge (A-40)

Eastbound

• On Wednesday and Thursday from midnight to 5 a.m., Highway 40 East, including the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge, will be closed between Exit 35 (Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Saint-Charles Avenue) and the entrance from Senneville Road.

The Quebec Ministry of Transport explains it is carrying out prep work for support installations under the bridge.

Tolls on Highway 30 eastbound will be suspended during the closures.

All work may be suspended or cancelled due to weather or operational constraints.
