A fire that broke out in a two-story house in Laval-des-Rapides forced the evacuation of four people.
Thirty-five firefighters were dispatched to the home on 59th Avenue. One person suffered from smoke inhalation.
When firefighters arrived, flames were visible on the ground floor and quickly spreading to the second floor.
However, firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
A spokesperson for the Laval fire department confirmed that the fire was caused by cinders improperly disposed of.
The home sustained significant damage but was not a total loss.
