Quebec City police arrest three people for drug trafficking

On Thursday evening, Quebec City police (SPVQ) arrested three people for drug trafficking.

The arrests, made in collaboration with investigators from the Quebec City police’s Module de la violence urbaine and tactical intervention squad, took place at around 9:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by the police.

Two of the suspects, a man and a woman, both aged 33, were arrested for trafficking and extortion, while a 40-year-old man was arrested solely for drug trafficking.

The latter was released on a promise to appear in court.

A search was also conducted at the home of the 40-year-old man in L’Ange-Gardien, a suburb of Quebec City.

Police seized just under 800 grams of crystal meth, nearly 135 grams of cocaine, some 2,500 methamphetamine tablets, and about 45 ml of GHB.

The two 33-year-olds remain in custody and are due to appear in court on Friday afternoon.
