Montreal police searching for groping suspect

Montreal police are asking for help searching for a suspect linked to several incidents of sexual violence. (SPVM)

Montreal police (SPVM) are looking for a suspect linked to several incidents of sexual violence in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and Saint-Léonard boroughs last fall.

The man in his 20s is described as a five feet nine inches tall, with red hair, a beard, and tattoos on his left forearm. He also has either a tattoo or large birthmark on the back of his neck.

Police say that in seven separate incidents between August and October 2024, the suspect allegedly approached his victims from behind and groped them before running away.

The SPVM is asking anyone with information to contact their neighbourhood police station, call 911, or contact the sexual assault division directly at 514-280-8502.

Anonymous and confidential reports can also be made to Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133 or online. Rewards of up to $3,000 may be awarded by Info-Crime Montréal for information leading to the arrest of suspects.

Since several victims have been identified, an investigation in collaboration with provincial police (SQ) was launched.
