Montreal firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at a residential building with a business on the ground floor in the Southwest borough early Saturday morning.
The fire department dispatched about 100 firefighters and 30 fire trucks after receiving a call at 3:20 a.m. reporting the fire on De l’Église Street and Laurendeau Street.
The fire started on the first floor of the three-storey building, where a restaurant was located, and spread to two residential apartments on the upper floors.
Both apartments were unoccupied at the time, so no evacuations were needed.
No injuries were reported.
