Around 20 firefighters were dispatched to a six-storey apartment building in Lachine on Wednesday night.
A spokesperson for the Montreal fire department said a 911 call came in at around 7 p.m., reporting the smell of smoke and a fire alarm going off in an apartment building on Saint-Antoine Street.
The fire department said two people were treated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported. The damage to the building is minor.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
