Graffiti threats on high school bathroom wall prompt police intervention south of Montreal

Chateauguay police responded to Patriotes-de-Beauharnois Secondary School in Beauharnois after someone scrawled threatening graffiti on a washroom wall.

Police arrived around 10:45 a.m. to inspect the school on Gagnon Street, and the alert was lifted before noon.

Students were kept in place while officers investigated, police said.

“Police officers have carried out the necessary inspections and confirm that the threat has been eliminated,” the Vallée-des-Tisserands School Services Centre said in a Facebook post.

The service centre added that school activities continued as normal on Friday afternoon.

Police said there were no arrests made.

“Investigators will remain on site to maintain a preventive presence and continue the usual checks,” the service centre said.
