A commercial building in Montreal’s Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough was the target of a potential arson attack early Monday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 12:15 a.m. about the flames on Saint-Charles Boulevard near Pierrefonds Boulevard.
“When officers arrived on the scene, the fire department was already bringing the fire under control,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “The fire department located incendiary elements at the scene, leading us to believe it’s an arson.”
Damage to the building is considered minor.
There were no reported injuries, and there have been no arrests.
The scene was protected and the file was transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
