Ninety-five firefighters battled a 4-alarm fire Saturday morning at the intersection of Saint-Gérard Street and Jarry Street Est in the Villeray neighbourhood.
The Montreal fire department (SIM) said the blaze began in a residential building, spreading to the second floor before reaching adjacent buildings on either side.
“Seven families will be relocated by the Red Cross,” said a SIM spokesperson.
Authorities confirmed that one firefighter sustained minor injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is set to start on Monday.
