22-year-old man seriously injured in Laval collision

A 22-year-old man is in critical condition following a collision in which his vehicle was pinned under a parked truck in Laval on Friday.

According to the Laval police, the incident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. on Dagenais Boulevard East, in the Auteuil sector.

For reasons yet to be determined, the motorist collided with a cube truck parked alongside the boulevard.

The 22-year-old man’s vehicle became wedged under the truck, and firefighters had to extricate the driver, who was alone in his vehicle. Tow trucks were also mobilised to allow rescue workers access to the vehicle.

The young driver was taken to hospital, where medical authorities still feared for his life on Friday morning.

Laval police are continuing their investigation in an attempt to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this accident.

Dagenais had to be closed westbound between Murcie Street and Berthiaume Street to allow investigators to analyse the scene.
