Woman charged after alleged spitting incident inside St. Thomas bank vestibule

Police say a 28‑year‑old woman is facing multiple charges following an incident inside a St. Thomas banking vestibule Friday evening.

Officers were called to the location for a report of an unwanted person.

Police say the woman refused to leave when directed by officers, and when she was being arrested the woman allegedly became aggressive and spat on one of the officers.

The woman was then arrested for assaulting a peace officer and taken into custody, where she was held to await weekend video court.

Police say the woman is charged with failing to comply with probation, assaulting a peace officer and failing to leave the premises when directed.
