Commissioners Road was closed Sunday afternoon for more than an hour as the London Police Service (LPS) was dealing with what an officer on scene said was a “weapons investigation.”
Just before noon, LPS issued a notice on social media that the area of Commissioners Road West and Gordon Avenue was closed for an ongoing investigation.
A woman trying to pick up a relative from the Gordon Avenue apartments told CTV News that she can’t leave due to a “shelter in place” warning by police.
There were multiple police vehicles at the apartment building and EMS waiting on standby near Gordon Avenue and Highview Avenue.
“At this point we are in the early stages of an investigation,” said Const. David Easter of the LPS.
“There is no known risk to public safety at this time.”
