Stormy conditions continue across southern Ontario as cooler air arrives

Julie Atchison has the latest forecast for the region

Rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms are moving through southern Ontario today.

“We’ll have another round as we push toward 4 p.m., and then another round heading into tonight. You can see the action developing through Michigan,” said CTV News London meteorologist Julie Atchison.

“We are experiencing some heavy downpours and intense lightning, and that will continue this evening. We have a front that will make its way through, bringing a cooler air mass as we head into tonight,” she said.

By Wednesday, there will be some light showers along the northern shoreline of Lake Erie, but the rest of the region is expected to remain rain-free through Wednesday afternoon.

“The probability is on the lower end at just 30 per cent. This forecast will focus on rounds of showers,” Atchison said. “We will see more shower activity as we push toward Thursday and Friday, with the potential for some thunderstorms. Temperatures tonight will range from one to three degrees across most of the region.”

Another surge of warmth is expected to move in heading into the holiday weekend.
