Bus cancellations, some roads closed Tuesday morning after heavy snow passes through the region

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the details on flurries and blowing snow across the region.

Overnight flurries and blowing snow continue Tuesday morning, but it will start to weaken as we head into the afternoon.

“Now Remembrance Day ceremonies going on … temperatures will be quite cold with the wind chill feeling like about minus 8 this morning,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “The temperature at 11:00 a.m. - at the freezing mark, but the winds still quite gusty.”

Atchison adds we will see some peaks of sunshine in the early afternoon, but temperatures will remain quite cool over the next few days.

“A rebound on the way as we head toward the weekend,” said Atchison. “Lots of sunshine on Friday. Back up to 8 degrees and then the weekend unsettled, but we’ll see double digit temperatures Sunday into Monday.”

BUSES: Buses in Middlesex, Elgin and Red zone cancelled for the day. Oxford and London are running.

OPEN: LDCSB schools are open in the City of London (includes RMC) and Oxford County. The Board Office will be open.

CLOSED: LDCSB schools are closed in Middlesex County (Strathroy, Delaware, Dorchester, Parkhill, Lucan).

CLOSED: LDCSB schools are closed in Elgin County (St. Thomas, Aylmer, West Lorne, Glencoe).

Roads

• Highway 401 eastbound is fully closed at Furnival Road in Rodney following a single-vehicle collision involving a transport truck. Expect slowdowns as you approach the area
• Heavy traffic backup westbound on Highway 401 at Highbury Avenue, south to Exeter Rd. due to a collision involving two transport trucks and a passenger vehicle.
• All westbound lanes on Highway 401 are closed between Graham Street and Furnival Road in West Lorne due to a three-vehicle collision involving tractor trailers.
