The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision that occurred while he was fleeing police in Sarnia on Thursday.
According to the SIU, a police officer in a marked pickup truck attempted to pull the the 31-year-old motorcycle operator over at around 4:30 p.m.
At the intersection of Montcalm Ave. and London Rd. the motorcyclist collided with another vehicle, where he sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital.
No other serious injuries were reported.
The SIU is asking anyone with information, photos or videos of the incident to contact them at 1-800-787-8529.
The SIU is an independent government agency that investigates incidents where a member of the public is injured, killed or assaulted in an interaction with police.
