Shelter‑in‑place lifted after disturbance near Sauble Falls

A shelter-in-place advisory for the area of Rankin Bridge Road in Sauble Falls has been lifted.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday OPP responded to reports of a disturbance involving a potentially armed person.

Police issued a shelter-in-place advisory for the immediate area, and after an initial investigation, found situation had “stabilized” and there was no immediate threat to public safety.

Police lifted the shelter-in-place advisory on social media at around 11:40 p.m.

According to police, the suspect later turned themselves in and was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported following the initial disturbance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
