Reduced Load season in effect in Oxford County

Reduced Load season is in effect for Oxford County until April 30.

As the spring thaw continues, heavy loads can cause damage to the roads, which increases safety risks for all drivers because of wash boarding.

Oxford OPP said wash boarding is when ripples form in the surface gravel, potholes, and cause pavement deterioration. It can result in collisions.

The OPP will patrol the roads to ensure drivers are following reduced load rules.
